Botanical Garden Trip

Botanical Gardens

Friday 1st of July, our school went to go visit the Botanical Gardens to see all the new sculptures and different things. We had gotten split up into groups and had to do activities while exploring the gardens.

We could smell the beautiful flowers and hear all the birds tweeting. I saw a lot of dogs and puppies, I just wanted to pat them all day. I had a fun time exploring the gardens.

It was time to go to the classroom where a lady taught us about native and endemic. She had taught us some interesting facts about native and endemic. Later on we went off to do some planting.

Off my group went planting. She had taught us the steps. I had planted a Harakeke and Kawakawa tree.

My experience at the Botanical Gardens was fun calming and beautiful.

  1. Kia ora Kamelia,
It's great to hear you planted a harakeke and kawakawa tree. Are these plants endemic or only native? It would be good for you share your learning about native and endemic as not everyone will know what these words mean.
